SafetyCulture is now Mitti.
The per-seat bill did not change.

SafetyCulture renamed itself Mitti in August 2026. Same company, same platform, same model: an app your team has to install and log into, a seat charged for every name on the account, and its report rather than yours. Quickler charges for the people who actually worked, runs in the WhatsApp already on their phone, and fills in the report your firm already sends.

First, the name

Mitti and SafetyCulture are the same thing.

If you have been handed a quote with a name you did not recognise, this is why. SafetyCulture rebranded as Mitti in August 2026, widening from safety into what it calls frontline operations: inspections, training, assets, contractors, lone worker and insurance. Luke Anear remains chief executive. The iAuditor name went the same way a few years earlier. Nothing about the product or the pricing model changed because of the rename, so a comparison you ran against SafetyCulture still stands against Mitti.

Quickler against Mitti

Three things it does that an app cannot.

Your document

It fills in your report, not ours

Upload the finished report your firm already sends, in Word or PDF, or even a photograph of one. Every record comes back inside that document, with your styles, headings, tables, headers, footer and logo kept. Quickler reads a finished report rather than a blank form, so it can tell your standing wording from one visit's facts.

Your bill

You pay for who worked, not who is licensed

£50 per active user a month, where active means more than one check that month. Everyone else is free. A 30-person team with 5 regular inspectors pays £250. The same team on seats pays for all 30. If nearly all of your team inspects most days, a per-seat platform will be cheaper, and we will say so.

Your team

Nothing to install, nothing to learn

They answer in the WhatsApp already on their phone, or Telegram, chosen per person. No app, no login, no training, no adoption problem. Voice notes are transcribed, thick accents and your trade's words included.

The honest version

Mitti is the biggest tool in this market for a reason.

We are not going to pretend Mitti is bad. It is the most established inspection platform there is, used by over two million people across 80,000 organisations, with a vast template library, a mature mobile app, offline capture, analytics across sites, and a breadth Quickler does not try to match: training, asset maintenance, contractor management, lone worker safety, even insurance. If you want one platform to run frontline operations and your team will open an app, Mitti is a serious and defensible choice. The one thing a rename cannot change is that it is an app with a login, and that it charges per seat.

Where it actually hurts

The report comes back in their layout.

Mitti builds its reports from its own templates. You pick a template, or build one in their builder, and the output follows their structure. That is fine until the report has to go to a client who expects your document, with your cover sheet, your wording and your logo in the right place. Then somebody at a desk rebuilds it. We looked at a set of Mitti template exports: the structure is clean and the library is genuinely broad, but it is their structure. Quickler starts from the opposite end. You send us the report you already issue, and that is what comes back filled in.

The alternatives

Your main options.

Platform

Mitti, formerly SafetyCulture

The broadest platform in the market: inspections, training, assets, contractors, analytics. Per seat, and an app to install and log into. The right call if you want one system for everything and your team will adopt it.

Free

Paper and spreadsheets

Familiar and free, but illegible, unsearchable, and impossible to produce when a regulator or a client asks.

No app

Quickler

Nothing to install, no login. The check arrives in the worker's existing WhatsApp chat, and your own report comes back filled in. £50 per active user a month, dormant users free.

How to choose

Will they open the app on site?

The real question is not which tool has the better template builder. Mitti's is excellent and far larger than ours. The question is whether your team will actually open an app on site. If adoption has held up, stay where you are, and we mean that. If people fill forms in later from memory in the van because opening an app is one step too many, then the record says completed but reflects what somebody remembered. A check that arrives in WhatsApp is worth testing, because they already use WhatsApp.

SafetyCulture became Mitti in August 2026. If you are searching for a Mitti alternative UK teams will actually use, you are looking at the same platform that was called SafetyCulture, and before that iAuditor.

Here is a fair comparison: where Mitti wins, where it does not, and how to tell which side of the line your firm sits on.

The short version

  • Mitti is SafetyCulture renamed in August 2026. Same company, same platform, same pricing model. Luke Anear is still chief executive.
  • It is the broadest tool in this market: over two million users across 80,000 organisations, with inspections, training, assets, contractors, lone worker and analytics.
  • If your team will open an app and you want one platform for everything, Mitti is a strong choice. We say that plainly.
  • Two things a rename did not change: it is an app with a login, and it is priced per seat.
  • Reports come back in Mitti's layout. If a client expects your document, somebody rebuilds it at a desk.
  • Quickler runs in WhatsApp, fills in your own report template, and charges £50 per active user a month with dormant users free.
  • Check Mitti's current pricing page before deciding. Figures move, and ours is the only price we can state for certain.

The rename

iAuditor, then SafetyCulture, now Mitti

This product has carried three names. It was iAuditor, the inspection app. The company then pushed the corporate name SafetyCulture to the front as it widened past inspections. In August 2026 it rebranded again, to Mitti, taking the name from Mitti Insurance, a 2020 joint venture with QBE.

The stated reason is scope. The company says its products already covered quality, maintenance, training and risk, so the safety-first name no longer matched what customers used it for. The platform now spans software, hardware, consumables and insurance, with new AI features for site benchmarking and routine tasks.

What matters for a buying decision: nothing in the delivery model changed. It is the same app, the same login, the same per-seat commercial shape. If you evaluated SafetyCulture and the sticking point was adoption or the bill, that sticking point survived the rename.

Credit where due

What Mitti does well

An honest comparison starts where the product is strong, and Mitti is strong.

The template library is the largest in the market by a distance, covering practically every inspection type a UK firm might run. The mobile app is mature and works offline, which matters in a plant room or a basement. Analytics across sites and locations give a genuine management picture, with benchmarking that a smaller tool cannot offer. Issue capture turns a photo or a voice note into a logged action, and those actions can be tracked to closure.

Then there is breadth Quickler does not attempt: training and onboarding, asset maintenance, contractor management, document control, lone worker safety, investigations, and now insurance. If your requirement is one platform for frontline operations rather than one job done properly, that breadth is a real advantage and you should weigh it.

The one catch

It is still an app, and still per seat

Mitti is an app. Every worker installs it and keeps a login alive. For a desk-based or adoption-tolerant team that is a non-issue, and Mitti works well.

For a team out on jobs, an app is one more thing to open when hands are full and it is raining. The inspection still gets done. The app gets filled in later, in the van or the car park, from memory. The record says completed. It reflects what someone remembered, not what they observed at the time. No amount of template quality fixes that, because the friction was never the templates.

The second thing is the bill. Per-seat pricing charges for every name on the account whether that person inspected anything this month or not. In a firm where thirty people are on the system and five actually inspect, you are paying for twenty-five people to hold a licence they do not open. That is a structural cost, not a negotiation.

The no-app option

Quickler, and where it stops

Quickler removes the app. A check arrives as a message in the WhatsApp the worker already has, or Telegram, chosen per person. They answer by text, voice note, photo, document or a location pin. Voice notes are transcribed, thick accents included, and the words your trade uses are taught to the transcriber so they come out right. When they say done, the record is written up and your own report template is filled in.

Where it stops, stated plainly. Quickler is the capture and write-up layer. It is not a care records system, an eMAR or a clinical record. It is not job management: no scheduling of work, no invoicing, no dispatch. It does not do training, asset maintenance or contractor management, all of which Mitti does. It does not replace a competent person's assessment or a statutory examination, and the accountable person still reviews and signs off.

And the pricing cuts both ways. If nearly everyone in your firm inspects most days, per-seat may well come out cheaper than £50 per active user. We would rather tell you that than win on a figure that does not hold.
