What is RQIA compliance software?
It is software that helps a Northern Ireland residential or nursing home keep on top of the recurring audits behind an RQIA inspection: medication management, infection prevention and control, safeguarding, falls and moving-and-handling, premises and fire safety, nutrition, care planning and governance, all self-assessed against the Department of Health minimum care standards and the Health and Personal Social Services (Quality, Improvement and Regulation) (Northern Ireland) Order 2003. Quickler does this as WhatsApp workflows with one dashboard across your homes. It is not a care record or clinical system and holds no resident care data.
Is this the same as CQC compliance software?
No. CQC and its four-word ratings apply in England only. In Northern Ireland the regulator is the Regulation and Quality Improvement Authority, RQIA, which registers and inspects under the HPSS (Quality, Improvement and Regulation) Order 2003 against the Department of Health minimum care standards, so the evidence a Northern Ireland provider needs is different. Adult safeguarding is under the regional adult safeguarding partnership policy. See our care home compliance software UK, Scotland, Wales and Ireland guides for the other systems, and the five regulators, one job essay for the wider picture.
How does RQIA judge a home, and does quickler award a grade?
RQIA considers whether care is safe, effective, compassionate and well led, its four quality themes, and describes its findings in general terms. This is not a numeric grade scale, so always check current RQIA standards and guidance for the exact terminology. Quickler does not award or guarantee any judgement. It records your own honest self-assessment and the evidence behind it, so a real inspection confirms what you already know.
Does quickler replace our care records or eMAR system?
No, and it is not meant to. Quickler is the audit and evidence layer. For medication and care plans it records that the check was done and captures the evidence, without copying a resident's personal or clinical data into quickler. Care plans, medication administration records and personal care logs stay in your care planning system, which remains the single source of truth. Quickler is not a care record, care management, eMAR or clinical system.
How does quickler handle safeguarding and notifications in Northern Ireland?
Adult safeguarding in Northern Ireland operates under the regional adult safeguarding partnership policy, and quickler runs a periodic review that referrals, records and staff awareness are in order. Inspections may be announced or unannounced, and a provider must submit notifications of certain events to RQIA. Quickler captures the environment and process evidence, not the statutory notification itself. Always work from the current published standards and regulations.
Is quickler affiliated with RQIA?
No. Quickler is not affiliated with or endorsed by RQIA, and whether your evidence satisfies an inspection is a judgement for you and your inspector. This page is general information, not regulatory advice, and you should always work from the current published minimum care standards and regulations.
